The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of secondary school physical education teachers' working environment on their commitment to teaching. The subjects of this study included 450 teachers selected using convenience sampling from the population of secondary school physical education teachers in Gyeonggi province. The collected data were analyzed through the descriptive statistical analysis and the multiple regression analysis using SPSS Ver 14.0 program. The results of the study were as follows. First, middle school physical education teachers' overall perception of the working environment was low. Especially, their perceptions of the recognition environment and the welfare environment were low. Second, physical education teachers' perception of commitment to teaching was relatively high. Particularly professionalism and affection towards teaching were perceived highly. However, their perception of the passion of teaching was low. Third, of the factors of middle school physical education teachers' working environment, the human environment, physical environment and recognition environment were found to have statistically significant effects on the teachers' commitment to teaching. The welfare environment and structural environment, however, partly had no significant impacts on the teachers' commitment to teaching.
