The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the preference of the elements of the traditional architecture in the modern architecture works in Korea.
To carry out this study the 40 modern architecture works are investigated and analyzed. To study the preference of the elements of the traditional architecture, First the 40 modern architecture works are classified as three categories. One group are the works that represent the elements of the korean traditional architecture as it shows. The other are those represent them as its image. Another group are those represent them as their architectural contents-the method of space organization, hierarchy etc. And the questionnaire survey is carried out to the two group students-those who majored architecture or design, those who majored non design part. And their datum are analyzed and synthesized.
The result are as followings: Two group students are recognized the elements of the traditional architecture in modem architecture works well. In the preference survey, The non majored design group students prefer the type A than the type C. But those who majored design group prefer the type C than the type A.
