This paper aims to analyze the existence pattern and description form of the travel literature, and looks around the limitation of the travel literature and formation process into the travel literature briefly.
In the travel literature in 1920s, the ideology of group the era pursuit and individual's desire were coexisted. According to the viewpoint to put importance between them, the direction of awareness shown in the travel literature differed.
This paper largely divides the awareness pursuit in the travel literature into ‘finding the spirit of Lee dynasty and national ideology', ‘aiming at class ideology', ‘accommodating and creating modern culture', ‘concealing and internalizing imperialism' and looks around them, and analyzes communication method between the target world and travelers based on them.
Specially, this paper pays attention to the travel literature to aim to observe individual in the light of modern viewpoint, who was aiming at awareness.
The reason is came from the judgement that the travel literature seeking after individual's internal world has important meanings to explain relationship between the travel literature and a travel novel. However, the travel literature largely submissive to the exterior world of work is suitable to be used as a frame to confirm, realize awareness, but has limitations to look into inner world. Accordingly, a travel novel, new genre to settle down the problem of individual and inner world through fictional persons who underwent various experiences, could be formed.
