This thesis have an object in view to re-examine with the above title, I have raised a question a certain problem that the earlier studies were underestimated the restraint of Silla from Beakjae after the battle of Gwansanseong Fortress in 554. On the basis of this fact, I took notice on battle between Sill a and Beakjae in July, 562.
Silla subordinated Geumgwanguk(金官國) in the beginning and Gaya Sates in the southern part to the method of a voluntary surrender before the subjugation of Daegaya. Daegaya was tried to see measure to save herself. But Daegaya made an effort with Beakiae to resist against Silla with the continuously internal disorder of her’s hierarchy. However. Silla erected a 「Changyeong Silla Monument」 at the same time and pressurized Daecgaya which was considerably damaged in the battle of Gwansanseong Fortress. With this. Silla drew a conclusion the just before stage of Deagaya’s subjugation, which is in relation to that of the different Gaya Sates.
At this period, Silla have dominated Gaya Sates for the most part except Daegaya. Consequently. Silla have confronted with Baekjae on the border of Seomjingang River. On this, according to upsurge between the two states, Baekiae attacked Silla in July, 562. But Silla realized Baekjae’s activity in advance and as a result, she repelled Baekjae as a center of Seongsansanseong Fortress which was located on Haman that was a city on Anraguk(安羅國) in former days.
In this acute situation, Silla has subjugated Daegaya rapidly after two months. Namely, this situation was different from other Gaya states which were made a choice the method of voluntary surrender to Silla. I think that Silla was justified in using of this armed force. it is based on in the following fact. Daegaya broke out in revolt with Baekjae. In this reason. books on history show that Silla has suppressed Daegaya owing to revolt and she has simply suppressed Daegaya by force of arms regardless of revolt.
Eventually, Silla has thoroughly deactivated the hierarchy of Daegaya. Since then Sill a has forward deployed Haju(下州) to Hapcheon. Thus she can obtain the whole Gaya area.
