The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the multicultural parent education program on international marriage immigrant women"s self-esteem, parenting attitude and social competence. For this purpose, this researcher selected 36 international marriage immigrant women residing in S and Y districts. The experimental, comparative and control groups each consisting of 12 members. Measurement devices used for this study were the Self-Esteem Scale, the Parenting Attitude Scale and the Social Competence Scale. The collected data were statistically analyzed through the Analysis of Covariance(ANCOVA). The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the multicultural parent education program is effective in improving international marriage immigrant women"s self esteem. Second, the program is effective in improving all sub-areas of international marriage immigrant women"s parenting attitude. Third, the program is effective in improving all sub-areas of international marriage immigrant women"s social competence. In conclusion, the Activity-Centered Parent Program is a process through which international marriage immigrant women could find their own strong points, listen to voices from their inner side and further have in mind the love and affection of themselves.
