This study was to identify relationship between Korean food image and country image among Chinese tourists in South Korea. From the literature review, Korean food image and country image were discussed. In order to collect the data, the survey questionnaires were distributed to Chinese tourists who were about to leave South Korea at Incheon Int’l Airport terminal. A total of 257 useful samples were collected and analyzed using IBM SPSS 21. The results of data analyses showed that four underlying dimensions (nutritional, nicely presented, unique taste, differentiated, trusty) of Korean food image, and four underlying dimensions (Korean national, advanced country, (democratic) political system, scenery) of country image were determined respectively from exploratory factor analyses.
Canonical correlation analyses were employed to verify research hypothesis. Research findings revealed that there were significant canonical correlations between nutritional and nicely presented Korean food image and all four country image factors. And implications of these results were examined.
