The purpose of this study was to understand the relation with athlete`s self-confidence according to parent`s interest and to provide fundamental data about the study of relationship between athletes and their parents by collecting data about athlete`s self-confidence. 130 subjects who participated the Second Jump Championship held on May, 2009 and 60 subjects who participated DooSan Match Championship were selected for this study. A questionnaire survey was distributed to the subjects after advance corporation to the association, and only 180 surveys were applied to this study because 10 surveys were not useful for the study. The average age of athletes was 20.5 years old (M=20.5, SD=4.00), and the average career of athletes was 7.03 years (M=7.03, SD=2.92). Because there was no measurement tool about parent`s interest, three questions including parent`s interest, understanding, and satisfaction were selected after interviewing three golfers and a professional meeting. Adapted self-assertiveness scale (Rakos and Schroeder, 1980) and Trait Sport-Confidence Inventory (TSCI)(Shin, Dong-Sung etc., 2003) were used for this study, and the results after analysis of the data were as follows. First, the study showed that there was positive causation between the parent`s interest and self-assertiveness. Second, it showed that there was positive causation between the parent`s understanding and self-assertiveness. Third, it showed that there was positive causation between the parent`s satisfaction and self-assertiveness. Forth, it showed that there was no causation between the parent`s interest and trait confidence. Fifth, it showed that there was no causation between the parent`s understanding and trait confidence. Sixth, it showed that there was positive causation between the parent`s satisfaction and trait confidence. Finally, it showed that there was positive causation between self-assertiveness and trait confidence.
