The appearance of the Far-east Korean Education Institute was inevitable. As Soviet nations were established, all schools became public and school age students were able to be educated for free. Especially as education in the native language of minority race’s became a law, russian-korean students were able to be educated in russian-korean language (Koryeo language). Sadly however, teachers who can use russian-korean language and textbooks written in this language were absolutely running short.
Far-east Korean Education Institute was established to solve the actualities of russian-koreans’ education. Solutions with various spectrums like excluding middle schools with expert refinements and professional school teachers, publishing and making a study about textbooks, creating and supervising russian-korean educational ideas, creating an avant-gardism in the russian-korean educational group, refinements and political classes for the russian-korean public were prepared. All of these were an assignment for Far-east Korean Education Institute.
However practically these roles were not able to be carried out. The Nikolsk-Ussurysk Korean Education College, which was established in 1927 and already had became a bridgehead of producing teachers, was fostering school teachers, but it was not until 1935 when the Far-east Korean Education Institute produced 17 first graduates. If the deportation of Koreans of the Soviet Union to Central Asia in 1937 had not occurred, the Far-east Korean education institute would have been a stronghold of Korean education. In reality, the manpower of students and teachers there had higher quality than the others, and the social and political influence was developing rapidly.
With the forced migrants, the school was moved to Kzyl-Orda in the Kazakhstan, the Far-east Korean Education Institute was renamed as “the Kzyl-Orda Education Institute” and changed to common institute of the Soviet Union.
