The effort of energy saving in building has been made. Especially, researchers studied the thermal performance enhance about windows for energy saving in buildings. In middle of effort about the thermal performance enhance of window, the vacuum glazing has been attended. So this vacuum glazing was used at the enhanced thermal insulation performance of building. But the vacuum glazing has the performance difference through the variety of component combination. Therefore the studies of the vacuum glazing have been studied but not enough. In this paper, by using simulation, authors confirmed the heat transfer value(U-value) of the vacuum glazing through various component combination(glass type, number of layer, interval of pillar and etc.). And authors have performed the physical test of vacuum glazing through standard test methods of windows and confirmed the U-value of the vacuum glazing by changed the interval of pillar position. The result of simulation, the U-value of vacuum glazing was calculated 1.466 ∼ 0.682 W/㎡·K by difference of the interval of pillar position, the performance of solar heat gain and visible light transmission have not changed significantly. The U-value of double vacuum glazing was calculated 1.154 ∼ 0.607 W/㎡·K by difference of the interval of pillar position, the performance of solar heat gain and visible light transmission have not changed significantly too. By the result of energy simulation, in case of used low U-value of vacuum glazing, the heating and cooling energy consumption in buildings was decreased 2.46 % than used low-e glass and filled argon gas in windows. Also in case of double vacuum glazing, the heating and cooling energy consumption in buildings was decreased 3.91 % than a vacuum glazing.
