The goal of this paper is to how propaganda was used to prevent the D.P.R.K.(North Korea) from collapsing the regime during the Korean War. In particular, I will focus on the Structure of Operations and the System for Business.
People’s liberation army of China played a key role in recovering and reestablishing North Korea. The North announced a new policy to rebuild and reestablish propaganda systems focusing on propaganda offices as top priority.
There are some important differences. When it came to operational structure, North Korea introduced paid-propaganda officers and sent them to the rural areas, which meant that North Korea consolidated and centrally managed all propaganda officers. When it came to working system, party memberships were required to become any member of propaganda offices. In addition to that, each provincial party committee and people’s committee were forced to be responsible to educate and select directors of propaganda offices.
Through these efforts, North Korea enabled local citizens to support the Kim Il-sung regime and to unite and fight for North Korea and Kim Il-sung.
