In this paper, we attempted to analyze the impact of historical entities (people, cultures, events and so on) based on Wikipedia articles from two perspectives. Firstly, we suggested a method to extract historical entities, and evaluate their impacts. Secondly, we evaluated the effectiveness of the suggested algorithms to assess the importance of historical entities. We could predict the scores indicating the significance of the historical entities based on Wikipedia articles using the algorithm. In order to set the boundary of the historical entities in Wikipedia, we selected a category of a certain nation in Wikipedia. Based on the category, we could define the time and the location required as standard information for scoring. We conducted several experiments to compare the answer set defined by historians and the result of the proposed algorithm. From the result, we found some characteristics between scores of our system and scores of historians.
