The purpose of this study is to analyze various digital platforms in the foreign energy field and to suggest directions and implications for the establishment of an energy platform that needs to be introduced in Korea. Some of the domestic and overseas energy platforms were selected and analyzed, and the appendix contained diverse type of platforms. In case of overseas platform, we focused on the case analysis of the platform and we discussed the current status and problems of the platform in Korea. Based on the overseas case, we suggested the direction of the domestic platform. Finally, we proposed platforms that need to be introduced in Korea.
The overseas energy platforms discussed mainly in this study were constructed for renewable energy supply and expansion, energy conservation, high-efficiency products, and residential DER dissemination. To successfully implement the government"s energy transition policy, the platform introduced in this study can be utilized as a policy instrument or a business model of enterprises. In order to apply the introduced overseas platform to Korea, institutional strategy and legal supplements are needed. It is also necessary to create a platform ecosystem. Also, the ecosystem of the platform is required. To ensure trust in the products and services offered on the platform, platform’s quality control is also required for the operator.
