Purpose: To evaluate the clinical and radiological short-term results of hip arthroplasty using a modular RevisionⓇ stem for deformity or bone defect in the proximal femur. Materials and Methods: Fourteen patients were followed for more than 2 years after hip arthroplasty using a modular RevisionⓇ femoral stem. The mean age was 69 years, and the mean follow-up period was 34 months.Clinically Harris hip score and postoperative hip pain were analyzed. The radiological results were assessed using various radiological indices. Results: At last follow-up, average Harris hip score was increased from preoperative 60 points to 86 points, and there was no significant hip pain. Radiologically all stems showed stable fixation. The inclination of cup was significantly changed in one out of 9 cases. Radiolucent line was observed in 2 cases around the stem, and in 1 case around the cup. Endosteal new bone formation was observed in 7 cases around the stem, and in 6 cases around the cup. There were 1 case of hip dislocation and 1 case of cup loosening as a complication. Conclusion: Hip arthroplasty using a modular RevisionⓇ femoral stem seems to be a useful option for the patients with deformity or bone defect in proximal femur.
