Because street dance embraces the rapid changes of the times and within them, exists as a cultural product that produces new values and is created, a strong self-concept that is centered and unshaken by others is most important. A self-concept recognizes a unique self-existence and originates from qualitative art and uniqueness that communicates with the world through art. Georg Simmel stated that an understanding of qualitative beings comes from the aesthetic experience because qualitative uniqueness is constructed only by the artistic experience. The foundation for qualitative beings is the world of sensation through arts. Street dance tries to grant legitimacy for self-existence through a high level of engagement and concentration and this does not cease at evaluation and satisfaction but aims to generate process-oriented qualitative arts and uniqueness by consistently observing various cultural and artistic phenomena that occurs within street communities. In other words, the qualitative uniqueness of self-existence that does not identify with others is attained through dance, expanded through creative culture, and artistic manifestations of self-existence that are not identical are pursued. The qualitative uniqueness of street dance expresses unique, distinct, and memorable movements and fashion but it also allows one to observe their own artistic life more seriously and forms the foundation for more abundant lives. Street dance realizes a unique ideal that actively reveals and pursues determination with regard to what kind of existence one wants to be acknowledged as to generate a creative culture that overcomes prejudices of various street dance genres. The unique qualitative existence of street dance does not exist in a ceased or completed state but instead, qualitative existence is reinforced within a continuously changing and evolving attitude within the aesthetic experiences. Such thinking and attitudes does not only expand the world of street dance but also awaken flexible and multi-sensory perceptions and place one’s self in momentary situations and establish qualitative uniqueness as grounds for self-existence through lively sensations.
