In accordance with changes in aging policy, the paradigm of this study shifted to the AIC concept for the elderly to continue living in the community and lead a community life as respected members of society. Village community spaces not only contribute to improving the quality of life of elderly individuals and forming bonds and networks by enabling natural interactions between neighbors, but also support the elderly’s active social participation by giving them the role of suppliers and giving back to the community. We are inducing a virtuous cycle structure that encourages this. Accordingly, we attempted to analyze village community space for AIC and suggest ways to utilize it, and the research results are as follows. First, in terms of the physical environment, it should be designed with enough consideration for pedestrian safety, such as sufficient effective width of the passageway and door location and size, to facilitate walking access. Second, from a social perspective, we need to continuously create an environment in which people can live as social members in the local community by utilizing the talents of active elderly people to provide opportunities for social participation as village instructors and caretakers. Third, in terms of services, not only health care but also services to improve the residential environment should be provided.
