This paper tries to find out some characteristics of articles of sport news paper. I choose every article of one sport news paper during the Sydney Olympic. The number of articles on the web site of this paper was 682. Among the articles body contact sport was about 70.0% and non-body contact sport was about 30.0% which shows the general customs of the Korean society. It means that most Koreans like baseball and soccer and it appears in this study. Among the total articles, articles about men were about 71.8% and women were about 28.2%, and articles about the game itself, other then games, about sex, about commercial were respectively 39.6%, 54.7%, 3.2%, and 2.6%. Due to the friendly relationship between North and South Korean governments, articles about North Korean players and games were about 3.9% and the news about North Korean gold medalists were always reported friendly, too. Frequencies of articles about discrimination of men and women was greater than that of Korean and foreign countries. In the body contact sport, the proportion of articles about Korean players and games was 76.3% and that of foreign countries was 23.7%. But in the non-body contact sport, the ratio of Koreans and foreign countries was 54.3% and 45.7%. Because Koreans like to see the body contact sport of Korean games and it was reflected on the news papers. But Koreans was watched some non-body contact sport of foreign country players.
