The Study intends to suggest the improvement method of Korean history examination’s content validity in college Scholastic Abilities Test. to achieve the purpose of this study, I surveyed previous articles and “A Study on the Test Development for Korean History of the 2017 College Scholastic Ability Test” of KICE.
Five content elements of content validity suggested in this study are cognitive complexity, structure of knowledge, representative knowledge, range of knowledge, balance of knowledge. These five content elements must be attained to improve Korean history examination’s content validity in College Scholastic Abilities Test.
Firstly, to fulfill cognitive complexity, the questions must be in accord with six evaluation objectives. Secondly, to fulfill structure of knowledge, the questions must be in accord with general ideas, basic concepts and general principles. Thirdly, to fulfill representative knowledge, the questions must be in accord with the important and significant knowledges in Korean History curriculum and Korean History textbooks. Fourthly, to fulfill range of knowledge, the questions must be in accord with all contents in Korean History curriculum and Korean History textbooks. Lastly, to fulfill balance of knowledge, the questions must be in accord with the equality of all contents in Korean History curriculum and Korean History textbooks.
