New Cultural Movement (hereafter NCM), which took place among chinese intellectuals on May 4th 1919, has great influence in Chinese modern history. We need to understand the general idea of NCM so as to study relationship between 5.4 Movement and Chinese Women's Movement. Also, the Condition of that time of Chinese women as well as individual studies on leading women for Women's Movement are needed to be considered. This paper mentions these things in the first part. The focus of this paper is to analyze schoolgirls and women who emerged as new force for social change at the period of 5.4 Movement; intending to follow up and analyze through what occasions and procedures they were able to approach the 5.4 movement and what activities they showed by taking part in the Movement. For the sake of more specific analysis, I give attention to women's systematizing struggles for the right to vote (political participation) and equal education (social participation). I also classify several data about the procedure how woman political representatives, under the enduring chinese and rocentric society, were emerged as they demonstrating, reforming, associating, and struggling. Then, I deal with women's movement for equal education which has been shown in the development of Chinese women's movement history. I elaborate the procedure how Chinese women struggled for gaining the right of receiving higher education. In sum, Chinese Women's Movement at the period of 5.4 Movement exerts functions and roles below through several activities in various fields. First, the systematization of Chinese women is the biggest achievement of Chinese Women's Movement at the period of 5.4 movement. Women organizations fought for the suffrage and eligibility for election which are basis of democratic society. Some leading organizations are around 12 including Changsha female line association, Beijing Female line association, Beijing women's participation 협진회, Beijing women's right movement alliance. They resulted in producing several female members of an assembly and achieving the adoption of new laws for women's suffering. Second, they made Chinese government accept the equal education system and made the university admit woman students for the first time. Also, they laid the groundwork for men and women's equal education in Chinese society by establishing higher education institutes for woman students. Third, they urged conservative Confucian system and custom to move toward the new life with new norms and values. The steadfast and persistent struggle of woman activists was rewarded with good fruits. However, as the whole society came upon the Chinese Communist Party, the women movement was also estranged from democracy and liberalism with rather focusing on liberation of women labor.
