School food service has now become popular and nation widely provided. The importance of school food service lies in correcting students" unbalanced diet, developing proper dietary habit, and giving accurate nutritional knowledge. School food programs contributes not only to students" health improvement but also to national health.
School food service workers paly an important role in operating school food service effectively. On the other hand, their job environment and job stress would affect their satisfaction with job and commitment to schools. Thus improvement in their job environment and job stress would bring positive effect on organizational performance, making it possible to improve the productivity and quality of school food service. Accordingly, this research analyzed the factors of school food service workers" job environment and job stress, with the goal of improving their work environment and the quality of school food. This could be achieved by providing them with opportunities to receive training for improving their job skills, such as lectures or education about professional cooking. In addition, efforts have to be made to reduce job stress, by developing and operating educational and training programs for dealing with their emotion. It is also important to have concerns about developing sound organizational culture.
