This study suggests a policy to support the healthy life of young people in Gyeonggi-Do. Government and local youth policy should not have a clear effect, and policy direction should be reexamined. As technology evolves, traditional jobs are rapidly changing to automation and jobs are expected to decline faster than in the past. As the industrial structure is changing, there is a fundamental limitation for the government to lead the increase of youth employment. Young people should be self-sustaining as the subject of life beyond resources and means of maintaining national competitiveness.
A young person is a person who wants to get a job as a person who is in a period of ripening physically and mentally. Young people are happier and more satisfied as they decide their career paths and actively prepare themselves. Youth must have clear goals and role models to maintain a healthy society. Gyeonggi-Do should establish a policy direction that is more appropriate than diversifying youth support so that it has the confidence that it will be helpful to young people.
For youth policy to be successful, the department dedicated to youth policy should judge the effectiveness, adjustment, reduction, and expansion of the youth policy project. Considering the characteristics of Gyeonggi-Do, where different regions are widely distributed, it is desirable to support youth-friendly activities centering on the municipalities. In addition, it is urgent to introduce youth mentoring system to support the entry of unemployed and NEET youth into society.
