The purpose of this study is to identify the variables affecting successful college life by analyzing the survey of 216 students of Theological University. The findings of this study are as follows: First, the average degree of successful university life was 3.36 on the 5-point scale, and the average value of the variables influencing successful college life was 3.40. However, ‘faith education’, ‘class atmosphere’, and ‘unfriendly human relations’ were lower than 3.00. Second, the indicators that have a statistically significant effect on the factors of successful university life are p<.05 at the significance level of ‘in-school personality education’, ‘student welfare’, ‘lack of my own goal consciousness’, ‘lack of economic power’, ‘life story education for employment’. These five variables were found to have a significant impact on successful college life by 12.8% (R²=.128). Third, the variables of ‘artistic activity’, ‘support for acquisition of related qualifications’ and ‘guidance of life story for employment’ were important to the theology students, the variable of ‘lack of my own goal consciousness’ was important to Christianity education students. And ‘professor-student relationship’ and ‘class atmosphere’ variables were significant for the counseling psychology students. In particular, the Social Welfare Department showed a higher proportion in the order of ‘guidance for life story for employment’, ‘unfriendly human relationship’, ‘in-school personality education’, ‘student welfare’, ‘artistic activity’, ‘lack of economic power’. The effect of the three variables on the theological students was 19.4%(R²=.194), The effect of one variable on Christian education students was 14.3%(R²=.143), The impact of six variables on social welfare students was 62.6%(R²=.626). And the counseling psychology department showed that the influence of the two variables was 44.1%(R²=.441). Thus, the study suggests the following implications on the education welfare practice: First, in order to help a successful university life, the school should primarily provide students with a clear sense of goal, prepare a life story suitable for employment, and improve student welfare such as scholarship support. Second, in order to succeed in a university life characterized by departments, the theological department is required to emphasize the three variables of ‘artistic activity’, ‘support for acquisition of related qualifications’, ‘guidance for life story for employment’, And counseling psychology department should be further strengthened by ‘professor-student relationship’ and ‘class atmosphere’. Third, a systematic approach is needed especially for social welfare students, such as ‘personality education in school’, ‘lack of my goal consciousness’, ‘student welfare’, ‘education for story of life for jobs’. Fourth, there is a need to positively study the contents and operation methods of personality education which is being conducted at Yeungnam Theological University every Wednesday according to characteristics of each department.
