This paper focuses on examining on overseas expansion strategies for the development of B2C online export in particular. B2C online export means that exporters sell their goods in the online market through several processes. According to the increase of B2C online trade, many different ways to sell products have came out of the Internet, for example, overseas direct sales through the websites of exporters, domestic open markets, global open markets and sales agencies. It is important that the exporters should choose the appropriate sale type of B2C online export and establish plans to entry into online market as for selling goods.
The purpose of this paper is to suggest overseas expansion strategies in order to support B2C online export and to develop Korean economics. Therefore, first of all, this paper focuses on a concept of B2C online export and sales types of it and also explains the characteristics of the sales types. Furthermore, this paper examines not only the current situation of B2C online export in domestic and overseas market and but also cases of B2C online trade in Indonesia and China and give examples of B2C online exporters, for instance, Elevenia, Qoo10 and Alibaba. Finally, this paper suggests fours strategies so as to contribute to the growth of B2C online export as follows. First, B2C online sellers need to do market research in terms of business growth and consumers’ needs. Second, B2C online sellers prepare for establishing sales network through various ways to entry into global market on the Internet. Third, government support is necessary to promote B2C online export. Lastly, effective online dispute system is required to resolve online disputes in B2C online export promptly and efficiently.
