The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among age-friendly environment, community spirits and health promotion behavior for the elderly participate in physical activity. To achieve the goal of this study, a total of 235 questionnaires were distributed. Out of those returned questionnaires, insincerely replied or double-replied questionnaires were excluded and finally 211 questionnaires were analyzed for this study. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling using SPSS Version 26.0 and Amos 26.0 program. Main findings were as follows: First, age-friendly environment had a positive effect on community spirits. Second, community spirits had a positive effect on health promoting behavior. Third, age-friendly environment had a positive effect on health promoting behavior. Fourth, community spirits mediated the relationship between age-friendly environment and health promoting behavior. Therefore, in order to promote positive health promotion behavior of the elderly participating in physical activity, it is necessary to increase the interest and awareness of the elderly by providing various information related to physical activity and health. In addition, it is necessary to develop the capacity of the region to practice healthy life and create an environment for it. Furthermore, in order to expand exchanges through various media such as resident meetings or revitalization of local events, meetings based on physical activities that can participate in various members should be held frequently.
