The United States presidential election of 2016 indicated that USA is still a White Man’s nation. Despite the election of the first Black president in 2008, it failed to elect the first female president in 2016. However, it is obvious that there has never been a woman who approached the presidency as close as Hillary Rodham Clinton did in the history of the United States. Although her dream failed to come true, her challenge for U.S. was greatly meaningful. We know that she has created American history through her challenge.
This article examines the growth of a person named Hillary Rodham Clinton from the perspective of gender history and the journey that has taken place as a female politician. This is work is an attempt to look back at the life of a 68-generation protagonist from the White House hostess to being nominated as a female presidential candidate. It is also an attempt to grasp the gender awareness of American society through complex reactions surrounding Hillary.
