The objective of this study is to research the way of progressive application of Korean Detailed District Planning System on the institutional sides. The conclusions of this study are as follows ;
First, the current operational system of city planning in Korea is carried mainly on the view of macro-city planning.
The Detailed District Planning, however, has simultaneously both the characteristics of macro-city planning and micro-city planning. And it is a district planning which needs a precedent city planning to determine of its zone.
Second, the roles and functions of Korean Detailed District planning are different according to the regulations of laws related city planning.
Third, there is need the institutional complement for Detailed District Planning whose characteristics of both micro-city planning and district planning can be applied in the current operational of city planning system in Korea. Fourth, zone for Detailed District Planning should be able to be designated wherever else it needs micro-city planning. Fifth, the laws and ordinances related Korean Detailed District Planning in which city planning law is involved should be amended and complemented.
Sixth, Detailed District Planning should be conducted flexibly according to environments of district where it is planned for.
