Exosomes are small vesicles that play a role in cell-to-cell signaling. The internal cargo of exosome changes according to the cell condition. Obesity is a major risk factor in the development of liver disease, which is characterized by insulin resistance, inflammation, and lipotoxicity. Recent studies have shown that exosome affect the development of metabolic disease. This study investigated the effect of adipose tissue-derived exosome according to the dietary obesity induction period on the insulin resistance and lipid metabolism in liver cell lines.
